This guide is designed for use as a reference when considering the role of trauma survivors in civil
and/or criminal court cases. This guide serves as a reference for judicial officers on trauma responses
related to sex trafficking survivors, to be able to resist further harm and re-traumatization. Judicial
officers are encouraged to make specific findings of fact regarding sex trafficking and issue detailed
orders designed to stop sex trafficking, hold offenders accountable, and prevent dangerous
consequences.
